Integrating Technology into the Learning Enviroment

Spotlight on Learning assists districts in cultivating a culture of success through the use of technology. We believe that technology should empower both educators and the students they serve. Our professional development experiences, assessments, planning sessions and team development training focus participantsí attention on the significant details necessary for continuous improvement.

Professional Development

Spotlight on Learning assists school districts with the challenges of integrating technology into the learning and teaching process. We help our clients get the most value out of their technology investment by maximizing effective use of the tools they presently have and providing a framework for new selections and upgrades. Tools and methods for collecting data on the outcomes of implementations are a major component of our services.

Presentations

Presentations consist of one- to three-hour sessions that provide an overview of concepts and often include collaborative work with organizational and data collection tools.

Workshops

Workshops vary in length and provide participants with hands-on experience using tools and techniques that will improve productivity and outcomes in the educational environment. Workshops are designed to empower both educators and the students they serve providing teachers with activities that directly correlate to district curricula, areas of need and initiatives. Strategies for attaining learning outcomes in curriculum areas and integrated units are presented and developed

Organizational Facilitation and Evaluation

Spotlight on Learning, as consultants, can act as facilitators for district, school or building based teams charged with planning for the implementation of technology in educational settings. Additionally, audits which provide a systematic check and assessment of the efficiency and effectiveness of the organizationís use of technology provides districts with a clear picture of present use and suggested actions to improve efficiency and effectiveness for both students and staff.

Program Planning and Design

Action Learning is an ongoing process for developing expert teams, teams that can, in educational settings, address the challenges of integrating technology across grade levels. Team members learn about specific areas of technology while they work toward solving problems. As coaches, we facilitate both the process of developing a cohesive team and the acquisition of skills within the context of district initiatives, striving toward district goals.
